Laser Surgery

LASIK is by far the most popular Laser Eye Surgery for patients wishing to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. LASIK surgery is available in many countries including Indonesia.

Laser surgery has already been approved and passed in accordance with the standards of the FDA (American Food and Drug Administration) for correcting refractive errors such as Myopia, Hyperopia, and Astigmatism.

With the advent of the excimer laser, refractive surgery has opened up new lifestyle choices to people who were previously dependent on spectacles or contact lenses for clear vision.

I Care Lasik is a clinic which specializes in LASIK surgery and has extensive experience in correcting patients with many types of refractive errors.

Fundamentals of the Laser Technique

The excimer laser is a very high precision instrument, which is used to correct refractive errors by altering the curvature of the cornea.

The laser can be used to cut a strand of human hair, and yet, the measurement of a human strand of hair is approximately 60-70 microns.

The simple process is similar to what occurs in an optic lab, when the curvature of a spectacle lens is altered to correct any refractive error.

The high speed of the laser is capable of carefully removing each 0.25 microns of the cornea until the power of the cornea is lessened so that the total refractive error will become less also.
