Day of the Procedure


On the Day of Surgery

  • Eat normally. There is no need to fast.
  • You should have someone accompany you on the day of surgery.
  • You should not drive immediately after the procedure, as vision will be slightly blurry.
    The doctor will advise you when you are permitted to drive a vehicle
  • Do not wear or use perfume, body lotion, body spray, aftershave, and hair-care products on the day of surgery. The vapors emitted by these may interfere with the sensitive laser.
  • Bathe normally and wash your hair.
  • Do not wear make-up around your eyes such as eye shadow, mascara, etc. before and after the operation until permitted by the doctor.
  • Take any tranquilizer pills that you need so that you are calm and relaxed
  • For the duration of the LASIK procedure, it is important that you cooperate and fully follow the instructions by the doctor and staff.
